About the FAJ Project

The FAJ Project is a Community-Based Tourism (CBT) initiative located in Labuhan Jambu, Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Its core mission is fostering sustainable local tourism through community empowerment, environmental stewardship, and social inclusion.
The primary goals are to involve the local community as widely as possible in utilizing economic opportunities in their own village and to extend the duration of tourists' stay in the area.
It works to empower and engage local communities, specifically by prioritizing the participation of vulnerable groups like the elderly and widows who host guests in their unused rooms. This gives them a new source of income and reduces social isolation. The project also promotes gender equality and youth participation.

Homestay Accommodation

We offer "Stay with Local" homestay accommodation. We create a network of homestays, professionally managed by the FAJ Project team, connecting travelers directly with local families.
Our homestays offer affordable accommodation for budget travelers and provide an authentic "live like a local" experience with genuine cultural connection, which commercial hotels fail to provide.
